Kovai, May 15: In a tragic incident in Coimbatore, four youths have been arrested for the murder of 21-year-old Surya from Avaniapuram, Madurai. Surya’s body was discovered on May 11 at the abandoned integrated bus terminus in Vellalore, with his hands and legs tied.Investigations revealed that Surya had recently moved to Coimbatore to join a college. The prime accused, Karthik (21), also from Avaniapuram, was reportedly upset over his girlfriend’s growing closeness with Surya. In retaliation, Karthik conspired with his friendsāNaren Karthik (21), Madesh (21), and Mohammed Rafi (21)āto eliminate Surya.
The group allegedly procured sedative drugs from a pharmacy owned by Naren Karthik’s father. They invited Surya to their room, administered the sedative via injection, and once he was unconscious, tied his limbs and smothered him to death. Subsequently, they transported his body in a car and dumped it at the abandoned bus terminus.
All four accused have been produced in court and are currently lodged in Coimbatore Central Prison.
This incident underscores the severe consequences of personal vendettas and the importance of addressing interpersonal conflicts through dialogue and understanding.
