TVK Rules Out Alliance with BJP in Tamil Nadu

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) senior leader Nirmal Kumar has categorically ruled out any possibility of an alliance between TVK and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu. Speaking to the media, Nirmal Kumar affirmed that TVK would contest the upcoming elections independently, focusing on building a strong, self-reliant political movement in the state.

His statement comes amid widespread speculation regarding possible political alliances ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. “There is absolutely no scope for an alliance with the BJP. Our focus is on the people of Tamil Nadu and our ideology does not align with theirs,” he said.

The remarks are seen as a clear indication that TVK, led by actor-turned-politician Vijay, is aiming to establish itself as a standalone force, rooted in regional identity and welfare-centric politics. Nirmal Kumar’s comments are expected to end speculation surrounding BJP-TVK ties and solidify the party’s independent path forward.
