In a tragic incident in Erode district, an elderly couple was found murdered in their farmhouse recently and special teams of policevwere formed to arrest culprits.After almost 18 days, cops arrested three suspects in connection with the crime.
The victims, Ramasamy (75) and his wife Bhakiyam (65), resided alone in Vilangattu Valasu village near Sivagiri, sustaining themselves through cattle and goat farming. Their children, a son named Kavisankar and a daughter named Bhanumathi, live separately. On May 1, after repeated phone calls to his parents went unanswered, Kavisankar requested nearby relatives to check on them. Upon arrival, the relatives detected a foul smell and alerted the police. Authorities discovered the couple had been murdered, and approximately 12 sovereigns of gold jewellery were missing from their residence.
After almost 17 days, the police arrested three suspects in connection with the case. The motive appears to be robbery, as valuable jewellery was reported missing.
