As Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning makes its highly anticipated release in Indian theatres on May 17 — a full six days before its U.S. premiere — Hollywood legend Tom Cruise has shared a heartfelt message of love and gratitude for his Indian fans. Marking the epic conclusion of a franchise he has championed for nearly three decades, Cruise took a moment to reflect on his long-standing bond with India, a country he describes as unforgettable and deeply cherished.
Speaking about his connection with India, Cruise said, “India is an amazing country, an amazing culture. The whole experience has been etched in my memory forever. Every single moment that I landed, going to the Taj Mahal, to spending time in Mumbai and all the people lining up at the premiere — I remember every moment quite vividly.” The actor fondly recalled his time in India, especially his interactions with the people and the cultural richness that left an indelible mark on him. He expressed a strong desire to return, not just as a visitor, but potentially as a filmmaker.
Cruise’s admiration for Indian cinema was also evident. “I love Bollywood films and the skill that it takes to do what you all do. I have grown up on musicals and love dramas. This culture is something that I would like to be a part of. It is on my list of kinds of films I’d like to make,” he said, hinting at the possibility of collaborating on an Indian project in the future.
Overflowing with enthusiasm, Cruise added, “I love India! It was so much fun, I cannot wait to go back to India. I have so many friends back there who I can’t wait to see again. It was just extraordinary and beautiful. I will never forget. I would love to shoot there and would love to make a Bollywood-style film. The dancing, the singing, the drama — I just find it utterly amazing.”
From savoring Indian cuisine to being embraced by one of the most passionate fan bases in the world, Cruise’s love for India is not just professional — it’s deeply personal. As he prepares to bid farewell to Ethan Hunt, the iconic character who defined his action career, Cruise celebrates not only the legacy of Mission: Impossible but also the cultures and people who have supported him along the way. For him, India is more than a location on a world map — it’s a place that feels like home.
Paramount Pictures and Skydance present a Tom Cruise production, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, directed by Christopher McQuarrie. This high-octane action thriller features a stellar cast including Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, Angela Bassett, Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, Tramell Tillman, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell, Mark Gatiss, Rolf Saxon, and Lucy Tulugarjuk.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is now playing in cinemas across India in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
