Actor Kamal Haasan has approached the Karnataka High Court seeking protection for the smooth release of his upcoming film Thug Life in the state.The move follows a ban threat by the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC). The KFCC said the film would not be allowed in theatres unless Haasan apologises for his comment that “Kannada evolved from Tamil.” The actor made the remark during a film event in Chennai.
Thug Life is set to release on June 5. Haasan has asked the court to step in and ensure the film releases without trouble in Karnataka.
