Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) President M.K. Stalin commemorated the 102nd birth anniversary of his father, the late M. Karunanidhi, by sharing a heartfelt message on social media.
In his post, Stalin lauded Karunanidhi as the “Sun of Knowledge” who uplifted Tamil Nadu from its humble beginnings. He celebrated Karunanidhi’s contributions to Tamil literature and language, highlighting his role in securing classical language status for Tamil and his dedication to the preservation of the Tamil language.
Stalin emphasized Karunanidhi’s political legacy, noting his five terms as Chief Minister and his leadership of the DMK for over five decades. He referred to Karunanidhi as a guiding force who provided both “light and shadow,” symbolizing his comprehensive influence on Tamil Nadu’s development.
The tribute coincided with “Classical Tamil Day,” underscoring Karunanidhi’s efforts in promoting Tamil as a classical language. Stalin’s message resonated with many, reflecting the enduring impact of Karunanidhi’s work on Tamil society and politics.
