BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran strongly criticised the DMK government for how it handled the Anna University sexual assault case, even after the court gave its verdict. He said the investigation was weak and many important facts were hidden. Referring to a video by former BJP president K Annamalai, Nagenthran said the BJP had always believed that the full truth was not revealed. “The DMK tried to silence people by warning that talking about ‘that sir’ would be contempt of court,” he said in a social media post. He made it clear that the BJP respected the court’s verdict, but blamed the police and state lawyers for giving incomplete documents to the court.
