AIADMK leader and Leader of Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) has strongly condemned the DMK government over a shocking incident in Cuddalore district.
An 80-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a gang of youths in Panruti. EPS said the youths were under the influence of drugs during the crime.
He blamed the MK Stalin-led government for the rise in crimes against women and children. “There is no safety under this rule. Drug use is growing. The State is in danger,” EPS said in a post on social media.
He called the crime “horrific” and accused the DMK of lawlessness. “The Chief Minister is silent while people suffer. Where is Tamil Nadu heading?” he asked.
EPS warned that people will teach the DMK a lesson in the 2026 Assembly election for what he called poor governance and total failure to maintain law and order.
