Sun Pictures has officially announced a fresh Hindi title for the upcoming Rajinikanth–Lokesh Kanagaraj film Coolie. The action-packed thriller, originally dubbed Majadoor in Hindi, faced online backlash for losing the recognizable Coolie brand. Responding to fans, the studio restored the name with a powerful twist: Coolie The PowerhouseThe announcement came with a new poster marking the 50‑day countdown to its global release on August 14. The tagline read: “Deva’s rage begins in 50 days! Coolie in Hindi is now Coolie The Powerhouse.”
The film stars Rajinikanth in a dynamic lead role, joined by a star-studded cast including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, and a special cameo by Aamir Khan
Produced by Sun Pictures, with music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, Coolie is billed as a standalone Lokesh Kanagaraj thriller—Rajinikanth’s 171st film, set to hit theatres in both Tamil and its dubbed versions this August
Coolie The Powerhouse now preserves the original title’s brand appeal while promising high-octane action and mass entertainment for a pan-India audience.
