AIADMK General Secretary and Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) has strongly criticised the DMK government, alleging that it has failed to bring in actual investments or generate new employment opportunities in Tamil Nadu.

Speaking to reporters, EPS claimed that while the DMK government has announced MoUs worth ₹6.64 lakh crore, very few have translated into real investments on the ground. “The government has not created new jobs as promised. Most of the MoUs remain only on paper,” he said.

EPS also pointed out the slow progress in industrial corridors like Chennai–Kanyakumari and Chennai–Bengaluru, and added that thousands of youth have been denied job opportunities due to poor follow-up on investment plans.

He further alleged that the DMK government is more focused on publicity than real development. EPS urged the ruling party to take effective steps to ensure that investment announcements lead to meaningful outcomes and employment generation across the state.
