Director Vetri Maaran, through the YouTube channel of his Grass Root Film Company, announced that his next film will star Silambarasan and be produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu under V Creations. He clarified that this film is not Vada Chennai 2, but it will be set in the same universe and share characters and settings, continuing within the same timeline.Vetri Maaran also addressed the delay of Vaadivaasal, citing the need for more scripting and detailed planning to ensure animal and actor safety. He added that the idea for the Silambarasan project came from Thanu during the delay.
Regarding Vada Chennai 2, the director confirmed it will happen and focus on the rise of Anbu, Dhanushâs character. He also clarified that Dhanush owns the rights to Vada Chennai and is entitled to compensation if the material is reused, urging fans not to misjudge him over this legal matter.
