Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has confirmed he is back on board for ‘Hera Pheri 3’, resolving all earlier issues that had led to his exit. Speaking on Himanshu Mehta’s podcast, Rawal said that everything has now been sorted out with his co-stars Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and director Priyadarshan.Earlier this year, Rawal had shocked fans by announcing his decision to quit the much-awaited third installment of the iconic comedy franchise. His announcement was followed by a legal notice filed by Akshay Kumar, who is also producing the film under his banner Cape of Good Films. The lawsuit reportedly sought âč25 crore in damages.
Brushing aside the controversy, Rawal said, “There is no issue now. We had to fine-tune ourselves creatively. Everyone involvedâAkshay, Suniel, Priyadarshanâare good friends. The audience has loved the earlier films so much that we all felt a greater responsibility to deliver quality content. We are now united and ready to give it our best.”
He added that their return is not about ego, but about teamwork and respect for audience expectations: “We canât take things for granted. When fans love something so much, we owe them honesty and effort.”
The first ‘Hera Pheri’, released in 2000, became a cult classic with Rawal’s portrayal of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, the quirky garage owner, alongside Akshayâs Raju and Sunielâs Shyam. The trio reunited in 2006 for the sequel ‘Phir Hera Pheri’, directed by Neeraj Vora.
With the core team back together, ‘Hera Pheri 3’ is now expected to begin production soon, much to the delight of fans awaiting a fresh dose of comedy and chaos from the beloved trio.
