A Feel-Good Family Ride
Director Ram, known for intense dramas, takes a refreshing detour with Paranthu Po — a breezy, heartwarming family film that celebrates life’s simple joys. The story follows Gokul (played by Mirchi Shiva), his wife Glory (Grace Antony), and their son Anbu as they go on a casual road trip. Along the way, the film gently explores small moments of happiness, parenting, relationships, and self-reflection.
Mirchi Shiva surprises with a subtle, restrained performance, showing he can do more than just comedy. Grace Antony is warm and expressive, adding emotional depth to her character. Little Mithul Ryan as Anbu brings energy and innocence that light up the screen.
The visuals are vibrant and travel scenes are beautifully shot. The songs, with lyrics-like dialogue, blend naturally into the story. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s background score is soothing and supports the film’s easygoing pace.
Overall, Paranthu Po is a charming film that puts a smile on your face. It doesn’t rely on heavy drama or action, but instead focuses on the beauty of togetherness, nature, and slowing down. A great watch for families and anyone who wants a gentle, meaningful escape.
