AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) began his 2026 election campaign in Coimbatore. Speaking at a large public meeting, he said the DMK depends on political alliances, while the AIADMK trusts the people of Tamil Nadu.EPS said the BJP-led central government had given major support to Tamil Nadu during AIADMK’s rule, including funds for the Chennai Metro project. He claimed that the DMK government has not brought any major development to Coimbatore in the last four years.
He also accused Chief Minister M.K. Stalin of focusing only on his family’s political future. EPS said that DMK leaders talk about social justice but do not practice it.
He criticized the DMK for using temple funds for educational projects instead of temple maintenance. EPS added that the AIADMK and NDA alliance is strong in Tamil Nadu and aims to win 210 seats in the next Assembly election.
