Jagan Mohan Rao, President of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), was arrested by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) over an IPL 2025 ticket scam.
The case involves the sale of tickets for matches held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. A probe found that Rao and some HCA officials misused their power to get extra tickets. They allegedly pressured the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team for more passes, including for personal sale and black-marketing.
SRH accused Rao of threats and blackmail. They said he even locked a corporate box before a match to demand more free tickets.
This act broke an agreement between SRH, HCA, and BCCI, which allows only 10% of tickets as complimentary to HCA. The investigation is ongoing.
