Yaadhum Ariyaan set for release 18 July

At the pre-release event of the upcoming Tamil film Yaadhum Ariyaan, director M. Gopi created a buzz by stating, “If this was a pan-India film, I wouldn’t have shown Vijay as just a Chief Minister — I would’ve shown him as the Prime Minister!” The bold remark, referring to Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, received loud cheers from the audience and sparked excitement among his fans. Produced by Breaking Point Pictures, Yaadhum Ariyaan marks the debut of Dinesh, a media professional-turned-actor, in the lead role. Prana plays the female lead. The film also features Anand Pandi, known from Vijay TV’s Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru, veteran comedian Appukutty, and Shyamala in key roles. Stunt master Kanal Kannan, who has worked in over 45 films with Vijay, lauded debutant Dinesh’s intense performance and called the trailer powerful and engaging. The film’s trailer, featuring a viral poster of Vijay portrayed as Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister, has become a trending topic online. Director Gopi confirmed that the scene will appear in the film and is not just a promotional strategy. He further announced that Vijay references would appear in his upcoming projects, underlining the actor’s growing political and cinematic influence. Yaadhum Ariyaan is supported by a strong technical team including cinematographer L.D, music composer Dharma Prakash, and editor Niranjan. With music, action, emotion, and political undertones, the film aims to strike a chord with the audience. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on July 18 and is expected to make a mark in the Tamil film industry, not only for its content but also for its political symbolism and emerging talents.
