To accommodate the increased travel demand during the upcoming weekend, a total of 1,035 special buses will be operated, facilitating travel across various routes in Tamil Nadu and to neighboring states.
On Friday, 355 special buses are scheduled to depart from Chennai’s Tambaram (Kilambakkam) terminal, connecting passengers to major cities including Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tiruppur. An additional 350 buses will operate on Saturday to the same destinations from Tambaram, ensuring continuous service.
Beyond Tambaram, Chennai’s Koyambedu bus stand will see 55 special buses on Friday and another 55 on Saturday, serving routes to Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru. Furthermore, 200 special buses will commence operations from Bengaluru, Tiruppur, Erode, and Coimbatore to various other locations. From Madhavaram, 20 buses will run on both Friday and Saturday.
To facilitate return journeys, special buses will be made available on Sunday from various locations back to Chennai and Bengaluru, operating based on passenger demand.
