Six Maoists were killed in  fierce encounter between security forces and Maoists in the dense Abujhmad forest region of Narayanpur district.
The gunfight began on Friday afternoon, when joint security forces, acting on specific intelligence inputs, launched a search operation targeting Maoist movements in the area. Intermittent firing broke out shortly after the forces reached the region.
Along with the recovery of six Maoist bodies, forces seized a large cache of weapons, including AK-47 and SLR rifles, explosives, and various supplies used by the Maoists.
Senior officials praised the forces for the successful operation and stated that search and combing efforts will continue in the area to ensure complete security.
