BJP leaders have sharply criticised the Tamil Nadu unit of the Congress party for its silence regarding a controversial remark made by DMK MP Tiruchi Siva about former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj.BJP state president Nainar Nagendran questioned the Congress’s presence in Tamil Nadu, stating, “There was hardly any objection from them.” Former state president K. Annamalai echoed this sentiment, suggesting that Congress leaders remained silent due to their inactivity and desire to maintain their alliance with the DMK.
Adding to the criticism, BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan accused the Congress of clinging to the DMK solely for votes. She also criticised Tiruchi Siva for not apologising for his remark and Chief Minister MK Stalin for downplaying the issue. Soundararajan suggested that Siva should visit industrial units established by Kamaraj to understand his contributions.
