Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly criticised the Trinamool Congress (TMC) during his visit to West Bengal. He accused the party of protecting the accused in the recent Kolkata gangrape case and blocking development in the state.PM Modi was in Durgapur to launch development projects worth Rs 5,400 crore.
Speaking at a public meeting, he said, “A young doctor faced a terrible incident here. But instead of helping her, the TMC government tried to save the culprits. Before people could recover from that shock, another girl was attacked in another college. Even there, the accused had links to the TMC.”
He said such actions are shameful and show the TMC’s failure to protect women.
