AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) has blamed the DMK government for giving electricity to farmers in shifts. He said this means farmers get power only during fixed hours.EPS said this new system is causing big problems. Farmers cannot run their pumpsets when they need. This is hurting farming work.
He added that earlier, farmers got uninterrupted power. But now, they are forced to adjust to limited time slots.
EPS said crop growth and irrigation are suffering. He wants the government to give 24-hour power again for farming.
He also asked the DMK to stop this shift system and help farmers.
So far, the DMK government has not replied to his claims. EPS also said that many farmers have already started complaining about dry fields and damaged crops due to this change. He warned that if the power issue is not fixed soon, Tamil Naduâs agriculture sector could face a serious crisis. He urged the Chief Minister to act quickly and put farmersâ needs first.
