Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has strongly condemned the ongoing removal of voters from the electoral rolls in Bihar. He accused the Election Commission and the Union government of targeting voters from opposition and marginalized communities through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
In a sharp statement, Stalin said, âYou are trying to delete us because you cannot defeat us at the ballot box. Donât play with fire.â
He urged authorities to immediately stop the voter deletion process, calling it undemocratic and dangerous.
Stalin also warned that this move affects the foundation of Indian democracy, and Tamil Nadu will oppose such actions with full force.
The SIR process in Bihar has reportedly led to the removal of around 56 lakh names from the voters’ list, including those who are deceased, relocated, or listed multiple times. However, opposition leaders allege that many valid voters are being unfairly removed.
