Popular Tamil YouTubers Gopi and Sudhakar, known for their hit channel Parithabangal, have officially titled their much-awaited film as Oh God Beautiful. The first look of the film, released on Monday, showcases the duo in quirky avatars inspired by the iconic Charlie Chaplin, setting the tone for a comedy entertainer with a message.Directed by Vishnu Vijayan, the film wrapped its shoot back in September 2023 and is described as a heartfelt blend of love, friendship, emotion, and truth. The newly released poster features Sudhakar with a gag over his mouth, holding a weighing scale with statues of the “three wise monkeys,” while Gopi is seen holding a book titled How to Say a Lie, hinting at the satirical undertones of the story.
Speaking earlier to Cinema Express, Sudhakar shared, “There is a small connection between Charlie Chaplin and our film. It explores friendship and family. We were searching for fresh scripts when Vishnu narrated this story, and we were instantly impressed. He is a filmmaker with great clarity and vision.”
The cast includes a strong ensemble of supporting actors such as Vinsu Sam, VTV Ganesh, Ramesh Khanna, Suresh Chakravarthy, Viji Chandrasekhar, and others including Subatra Robert, Muruganandham, Prasanna, and Goutham.
On the technical front, cinematography is handled by Shakthivel and KB Shree Karthik, editing by Sam RDX, with songs composed by JC Joe. Arun Gowtham contributes the original score and additional tracks.
While the release date of Oh God Beautiful is yet to be announced, fans of the comedic duo are already looking forward to their big-screen return. It’s worth noting that their earlier ambitious project Hey Money Come Today Go Tomorrow Ya, touted to be Tamil cinema’s biggest crowdfunded film, was shelved due to the pandemic.
With Oh God Beautiful, Gopi and Sudhakar seem ready to bring their trademark humour and sincerity to the silver screen once again.
