MDMK General Secretary Vaiko has strongly opposed the move to include people from other states, particularly migrant workers, in Tamil Nadu’s voter list. He said this would harm the rights of the people of Tamil Nadu and affect the stateâs political future.Vaiko claimed that the Election Commissionâs recent actions, especially the Special Intensive Revision exercise in states like Bihar, might lead to nearly 6.5 lakh migrant workers being added to Tamil Naduâs electoral rolls. He warned that this could change the outcome of elections and urged all democratic forces in the state to oppose the move.
He also urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to immediately call for an all-party meeting to stop what he called a âdangerous attemptâ to alter the voter base in the state.
