The Tamil Nadu government has issued a warning against the spread of fake news regarding the Minister for School Education, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi. A false report circulating on social media claimed the minister had visited a government school in Chennai’s Saidapet, where he allegedly provided first aid to a teacher who was under the influence of alcohol and warned individuals selling narcotic pills near the school’s entrance.
The official fact-checking account of the Tamil Nadu government clarified that the news is fake. The government has warned that legal action will be taken by the School Education Department against those who spread this misinformation.
