AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami (EPS) has accused the DMK government of targeting farmers for political reasons. He spoke at a public meeting in Royakottai during his “We will protect the people, we will rescue Tamil Nadu” tour.EPS said that when he was Chief Minister, his government built an Indo-Isro cut-flower training center and an international flower auction center at a cost of ₹20 crore. The aim was to help farmers sell their flowers at better prices without going to Bangalore. He claimed the DMK government has now locked the auction center and left it unused, calling it revenge against farmers. He promised to reopen it if AIADMK comes back to power.
He also spoke about mango farmers in Krishnagiri district, who faced a steep fall in prices. EPS said AIADMK had asked the government to give compensation, but nothing was done. The party had demanded ₹30,000 per acre and a fixed price of ₹13 per kilogram for mangoes. He assured farmers that they would see better days if AIADMK returns to power
