After a 16-year break from Malayalam cinema, actor Shanthnu Bhagyaraj is set to return with Balti, an action-packed sports thriller co-starring Shane Nigam. Written and directed by debutant Unni Sivalingam, the film blends high-energy sports sequences with themes of teamwork, resilience, and personal struggle.Balti also features acclaimed filmmaker Alphonse Puthren in a key role as Soda Babu, with music by viral sensation Sai Abhyankkar in his Malayalam debut, collaborating with lyricist Vinayak Sasikumar. The technical team includes cinematographer Alex J. Pulickal, editor Shivkumar V. Panicker, and art director Ashik S.
Produced by Santhosh T. Kuruvilla and Binu George Alexander under STK Frames and Binu George Alexander Productions, the film marks Shanthnu’s first Malayalam appearance since Angel John (2007) alongside Mohanlal. Calling it a “fresh experience,” Shanthnu said the role was the perfect way to re-enter the industry.
With a strong cast, dynamic crew, and high production values, Balti is already generating significant buzz ahead of its release.
