In a major move to simplify toll payments, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will roll out a FASTag Annual Pass from August 15, 2025, offering a cost-effective option for frequent highway travellers.Priced at ₹3,000, the pass is valid for one year or up to 200 toll crossings, whichever comes first. It will be available for private cars, jeeps, and vans (non-commercial) on NHAI and Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) managed roads.
Activation can be done via the Rajmarg Yatra mobile app, NHAI/MoRTH websites, or authorised FASTag providers. The pass links directly to an existing active FASTag, eliminating repeated recharges. Payments can be made through credit/debit cards, UPI, net banking, and other online methods.
Once the limit is reached or the validity ends, the pass will automatically switch to the normal pay-per-use FASTag mode.
NHAI says the move will reduce congestion, save time, and make toll payments smoother for millions of travellers. “This is the biggest upgrade to India’s electronic toll system so far,” an NHAI official said.
Users must ensure their FASTag is active, linked to their vehicle number, and properly installed before purchase. An SMS confirmation will be sent after activation.
