Rajinikanth, whose debut film Apoorva Raagangal directed by K. Balachander was released on this day in 1975, responded with gratitude. âI am deeply grateful for your warm wishes. The actor, now in his 171st film, is currently seen in director Lokesh Kanagarajâs Coolie, which released yesterday. Despite receiving largely negative reviews from critics, the action entertainer is creating history at the box office.
According to Sun Pictures, the production house owned by Kalanithi Maran, Coolie has registered the âhighest-everâ opening day collection for a Tamil film, grossing over âč151 crore worldwide. The film has also set a new overseas benchmark, raking in more than $8.75 crore on its opening day.
The star-studded project features Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Nagarjuna, Pooja Hegde, and Aamir Khan in key roles.
