Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday accused the Election Commission of working with the BJP to “steal” elections. He said the INDIA bloc will not allow them to succeed in Bihar.Speaking at the launch of his 1,300 km Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar, Gandhi alleged that voters are being added and deleted through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of rolls to benefit the BJP.
He said, “In the whole country, elections are being stolen. Their last conspiracy is to change the voter list in Bihar. But we will not let them steal the polls.”
Rahuk Gandhi claimed that poor people only have the power of vote and it must be protected. He said his recent press conference exposed this “vote theft,” but while he was asked for an affidavit, no such demand was made from BJP leaders.
Calling it a fight to save the Constitution, he alleged that the BJP and RSS are trying to destroy it. He cited Maharashtra as an example, saying one crore voters were added and the BJP alliance won despite opinion polls predicting an INDIA bloc victory.
