In a tragic incident, a 30-year-old doctor working at a central government hospital allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the 12th floor of her sister’s residence in Perungalathur. The incident reportedly followed her separation from her husband.
The doctor had been married for 10 months to a software engineer from Ramanathapuram district. The couple reportedly had frequent disagreements and had been living apart for the past three months, with her husband staying in his hometown while she continued to live alone in Chennai.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on Friday evening while her sister was away at work. The police were informed and her body was sent for postmortem to Chromepet Government Hospital. The exact reason behind her death remains unclear, and authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.
