Actor Jiiva is set to collaborate once again with filmmaker M Rajesh for his 47th film, marking a highly anticipated reunion of the Siva Manasula Sakthi team after 16 years. Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, who delivered a chart-topping soundtrack for their 2009 romantic comedy, will also join the project, rekindling the successful trio.
The yet-to-be-titled film will be bankrolled by Maalik Streams. Announcing the project on social media, Jiiva shared a special video on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “16 years, an iconic trio, and another timeless film. On this special U1 day, @malikstreams happily announces their next mega project featuring @jiivaofficial. Directed by @rajeshmdirector & music by @thisisysr.” The announcement was made on the occasion of Yuvan Shankar Raja’s birthday, adding excitement for fans of the acclaimed composer.
Further details about the film’s cast, crew, and storyline are yet to be revealed, but expectations are high given the success of Siva Manasula Sakthi. The 2009 rom-com, which starred Jiiva and Anuya Bhagwat, featured memorable performances from Santhanam, Urvashi, and Sathyan. Despite mixed initial reviews, the film became a box office hit and eventually achieved cult status, with Yuvan’s soundtrack being hailed as one of the highlights. It was also remade in Telugu as Siva Manasulo Sruthi in 2012.
M Rajesh, who made his directorial debut with Siva Manasula Sakthi, has since directed hits like Boss Engira Bhaskaran, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, and All in All Azhagu Raja. He recently directed Brother (2024) and ventured into OTT with the SonyLIV anthology Victim and the JioHotstar series MY3.
