Vaa Vaathiyaar, written and directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, stars Karthi in the lead role. The makers have announced that the film will release in December. The exact release date will be shared soon.The teaser, released in November, showed elements linked to actor-politician MG Ramachandran. Posters suggest that Karthi plays a police officer. The cast includes Krithi Shetty, Sathyaraj, Rajkiran, Anand Raj, Shilpa Manjunath, Karunakaran, Ramesh Thilak, and Madhur Mittal.
Santhosh Narayanan is composing the music. The first single, Uyir Pathikama, came out in February. George C Williams is the cinematographer, and Vetre Krishnan is the editor.
Karthi is also working on other projects. He will appear in Kaithi 2 with Lokesh Kanagaraj, Marshal by Tamizh, and Sardar 2 directed by PS Mithran. Actor SJ Suryah will play the villain in Sardar 2.
