Washington, Sept 6: Former U.S. President Donald Trump hosted a special dinner at the White House for some of the world’s top technology leaders, including Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
Speaking at the event, Trump said, “The most brilliant people are gathered around this table. This is definitely a high-IQ group, and I’m very proud of them.” He was joined by First Lady Melania Trump, philanthropist Bill Gates, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Sundar Pichai described artificial intelligence as one of the most powerful forces shaping the world today. He praised the U.S. government’s AI action plan as “a great start” and announced that Google would invest $250 billion in the United States over the next two years.
Satya Nadella also spoke about the global trust in American technology and credited U.S. policies for creating an environment that supports innovation. He appreciated Melania Trump’s interest in AI education and skills. Trump, in turn, congratulated Nadella for Microsoft’s stock growth, noting its rise from $28 to over $500.
Other leaders present included Apple CEO Tim Cook, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and several major industry figures. Many pledged large-scale investments in U.S. innovation and infrastructure.
