The Higher Education Department of Tamil Nadu will organize job fairs for students from government and aided colleges across the state.A senior official said the government is making efforts to help students from engineering and arts & science colleges find jobs. Job fairs have been conducted in these colleges every year.
To improve placements, college placement cells have been strengthened. Teachers have been appointed as placement officers. The department has also partnered with several companies, including multinational firms. More companies are expected to join this year.
Recently, micro job fairs were held in Ariyalur, Thoothukudi, and Mayiladuthurai on September 12. The Cuddalore job fair was organized on September 13. Placement drives in Virudhunagar, Tirupur, and Salem are scheduled for September 19.
Additional job fairs will be held this month in Kallakurichi, Tenkasi, and Tiruvannamalai.
