The Tamil Nadu government is offering a free spiritual journey for senior citizens from Rameswaram to Kashi (Varanasi). The program is part of the government’s effort to support the spiritual needs of the elderly.

Applicants must be between 60 and 70 years old. Preference will be given to those with limited financial means.

Application forms are available at Zonal Joint Commissioner offices or can be downloaded from the official website www.hrce.tn.gov.in
. Completed forms must be submitted by October 22, 2025.

The journey will start from Rameswaram and end at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. The government has allocated ₹1.5 crore for this pilgrimage to accommodate 600 participants. Each of the 20 zones will select 30 devotees.

This initiative shows the government’s commitment to preserving religious traditions and providing senior citizens the chance to undertake important spiritual journeys.
