Actress Rukmini Vasanth has completed her dubbing for her role as Kanakavathi in the upcoming film Kantara: Chapter 1. She shared a behind-the-scenes video on social media, expressing her excitement for the project.Directed by Rishab Shetty, Kantara: Chapter 1 is a prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara. The film explores the origins of the Bhuta Kola ritual and the mythology of divine land guardianship during the Kadamba dynasty. Rukmini’s role as Kanakavathi is expected to be a key part of the story.
Filming wrapped in July 2025, and the movie is now in post-production. It is scheduled for release on October 2, 2025, in multiple languages, including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and English. The film will also be screened in IMAX, 4DX, and D-Box formats.
