The Madras High Court has ordered the Tamil Nadu government to establish uniform guidelines for political parties to hold rallies and public meetings. The move aims to ensure equal treatment for all parties while safeguarding public safety and property.
The court emphasized that no one is above the law and highlighted the need for proper security, risk assessment, and accountability for damages during events. The state will now consult law enforcement and political representatives to frame a fair and effective framework for conducting rallies.
