However, the filming of Thani Oruvan 2 has yet to begin.Speaking at a recent award function, director Mohan Raja was asked about the sequelās status. He revealed that he had recently held discussions with producer Archana Kalpathi. āWe spoke about Thani Oruvan 2 and agreed that given the high budget required, this is not the right time to begin production. The current state of Tamil cinema needs to improve further. But we are determined to make this film, and it will definitely happen,ā he said.
