Two Assam Rifles Jawans Killed in Manipur AmbushBishnupur: Two Assam Rifles jawans were killed and five others injured in an ambush on Friday evening in Manipur’s Bishnupur district.
Police said the attack happened around 5.50 pm. A vehicle carrying 33 Assam Rifles personnel was moving from Imphal to Bishnupur when unidentified gunmen opened fire.
The injured were taken to nearby hospitals and are receiving treatment.
Former Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh condemned the incident. He called it a “cruel blow” to the state.
