Dubai, Sept 25: India booked their place in the Asia Cup 2025 final with a convincing 41-run win over Bangladesh in the Super 4 clash on Wednesday. The victory underlined Indiaâs dominance in the tournament as they extended their unbeaten streak and became the first team to qualify for the summit clash. The highlight of the innings was young opener Abhishek Sharma, who continued his brilliant form with the bat. He smashed a quickfire 75 off just 37 balls, laced with powerful strokes all around the ground. His attacking intent gave India the perfect start and laid the foundation for a strong total. Despite losing wickets in the middle overs, India managed to post a competitive score of 168 for 6 in 20 overs. Contributions from the middle order ensured that Abhishekâs innings did not go in vain.
Bangladeshâs chase got off to a poor start as Jasprit Bumrah struck early, removing one of the openers and putting pressure on the batting lineup. From there, Indiaâs bowlers never allowed Bangladesh to settle. Kuldeep Yadav was outstanding once again, picking up 3 wickets for 18 runs, breaking partnerships and halting any momentum for the opposition. The rest of the attack supported well, maintaining tight lines and creating constant pressure.
The only real resistance from Bangladesh came from Saif Hassan, who fought hard with a valiant 69 runs. His innings, however, lacked support as wickets kept falling at the other end. Eventually, Bangladesh folded for 127 in 19.3 overs, falling well short of the target.
Indiaâs performance was clinical, although there were moments of sloppiness in the field with a couple of dropped catches. Still, their superior batting depth and bowling firepower proved too much for Bangladesh.
With this result, India has officially entered the Asia Cup 2025 final, maintaining their perfect record. Bangladesh, on the other hand, face a must-win match against Pakistan in what will effectively be a knockout for a spot in the final.
