US President Donald Trump welcomed Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the White House on Thursday. The visit showed improving ties between the two countries. Sharif arrived around 5 pm with Pakistanâs army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir. Senior US officials received them. The Oval Office meeting was Sharifâs first with a US president. No Pakistani prime minister had met a US president in the Oval Office since Imran Khan in 2019. Talks were expected to cover trade, security, and global issues. For Sharif, it was part of a busy week in the US. He had already joined Trump and leaders of eight Arab and Muslim nations to discuss the Israel-Hamas war. Earlier, he spoke at the UN Climate Summit in New York. @@
