Police have arrested three people for sharing false information on social media about the Karur stampede, which claimed 41 lives.Those arrested include Sahayam (38), BJP State Secretary for Art and Culture from Perumpakkam, Sivaneswaran from Mangadu, a member of Vijayās party, and Sarathkumar (32) from Avadi, who is a ward secretary of the party.
Police said these individuals spread misleading and defamatory posts regarding the tragedy. Earlier, cases had been filed against 25 others for similar actions. Authorities warned that strict action will be taken against anyone spreading rumors about the incident.
