The newly launched ‘Chennai One’ mobile application, a unified ticketing platform for MTC buses, metro trains, and suburban electric trains, has seen remarkable success, recording over 2 lakh downloads within just 15 days of its launch.Inaugurated by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, the app integrates buses, metro, suburban trains, taxis, and autos under a single QR-based ticketing system, allowing commuters to track real-time movements and purchase tickets seamlessly via UPI or payment cards.
Available in English, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, the app provides a single travel record, making multi-modal commuting across Chennai more convenient. Since its launch on September 22, officials report that 2,000–3,000 commuters are using the app daily, with over 1 lakh users having already purchased tickets.
The ‘Chennai One’ app represents a significant step forward in digital public transport innovation, eliminating the need for queues and offering a smooth, user-friendly travel experience across the city.
