The planned visit of BJP national president J.P. Nadda to Tamil Nadu has been cancelled, according to a reports.Nadda was expected to inaugurate the campaign trail for BJP state president Nainar Nagendran on October 12 in Madurai under the “Tamizhagam Thalai Nimir, Tamizhanin Payanam” initiative. But the visit has now been called off, even though the launch event was to draw large numbers of BJP workers and allied party members from across the region.
State party leaders had secured conditional permissions from Madurai Police for the event, especially in light of the recent Karur tragedy, but with Nadda’s travel now shelved, the BJP’s electoral plans in Tamil Nadu could see a revision.
