Vipin Kumar of the 1988 batch has assumed charge as the new Additional General Manager (AGM) of Southern Railway, succeeding Mr. Kaushal Kishore, who superannuated in August 2025.
Vipin Kumar joined the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) in 1988 and has held numerous technical and managerial positions across several zones, including South Central Railway, Northern Railway, South Western Railway, South Eastern Railway, Eastern Railway, and North Central Railway.
He has successfully led large-scale infrastructure projects spanning railways, metros, highways, and tunnels, showcasing expertise across multi-disciplinary domains, according to a release from Southern Railway.
Kumar graduated from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, and completed his post-graduation in Computer Science from IIT-Delhi.
