FIRs filed against advocate & VCK cadres

Police have registered two separate FIRs following a clash between an advocate and members of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) near the Madras High Court.
According to police sources, advocate Rajiv Gandhi filed a complaint alleging that VCK cadres assaulted him during an argument. Based on his complaint, police registered an FIR against the VCK members under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including provisions related to obscene acts and voluntarily causing hurt.
In turn, the VCK cadres lodged a counter-complaint against the advocate, accusing him of wrongful restraint, criminal intimidation, and provocation. Police registered another FIR based on their complaint.
Officials said that investigations are underway into both cases to determine what led to the altercation.
