Stalin to visit Kovilpatti on Oct 28

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will visit Kovilpatti on October 28 to inaugurate the newly constructed DMK city office and unveil a statue of former Chief Minister and DMK leader M. Karunanidhi.

The new DMK office, built on Ilayarasanendal Road, features two stories and a dedicated library section, with an eight-foot statue of Karunanidhi at its entrance.

Party members and the public contributed to the construction of the office. In preparation for the visit, major roads in Kovilpatti have been repaired, and a massive pandal has been set up for the event.

Social Welfare Minister P. Geetha Jeevan and other local leaders have inspected the arrangements ahead of the Chief Minister’s arrival.

Following the ceremony, Stalin will interact briefly with party cadres and then proceed to Tenkasi district on October 29 to attend government and welfare events. His earlier planned tour to Tenkasi was postponed due to heavy rain, but all arrangements have now been finalized for both public and administrative programmes.

The new Kovilpatti office aims to strengthen DMK’s organizational network in the region ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections
