Washington, Oct 29: US President Donald Trump has again spoken about the cross-border clashes between India and Pakistan that took place from May 7 to 10.
Speaking in Tokyo, he said that seven “brand-new, beautiful” aircraft were shot down during the fighting. He also repeated his claim that he helped both countries agree to a ceasefire and stop further violence.
Both India and Pakistan have not officially revealed how many aircraft were lost in the clash.
Trump’s comments have once again brought attention to how serious the situation was and how close it came to escalating further. His remarks also highlight the US role in trying to reduce tensions between the two neighbours.
