Pedhawar, Nov 4: Security forces in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province killed several militants of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) after they attacked a police convoy led by DPO North Waziristan Waqar Khan on Miranshah Road in Bannu district. The militants used automatic and heavy weapons, but the police retaliated, killing several attackers while others fled. Six policemen were injured and treated at DHQ Hospital, while DPO Khan remained unharmed due to his bulletproof vehicle. A search operation followed the attack. In a separate intelligence-based operation in Bajaur district, security forces killed a senior Daesh-Khorasan (ISKP) operative involved in multiple assassinations, including PTI and ANP leaders and a deputy commissioner. The militant had been freed from Kabul’s Pul-e-Charkhi Jail after the Taliban takeover and had reentered Pakistan in 2023. Additionally, an Afghan militant was killed while planting an IED during another operation in Tank district’s Lali Khel area.
